I finished cooking all of our left over turkey today! I made turkey carnitas for lunch. This is another great way to use leftover turkey. All the aromatics and broth cooks into the turkey, and then it is fried with more spices added. It is really crispy and delicious! We loved it.
Andrew went to do a hospital visit this afternoon. I washed the dishes and swept the floor. I have to sweep under and around our dining table at least once or twice a day. Some of us are just messy! Then the kids and I took our Sunday afternoon nap! I didn’t realize how tired I was, and apparently the kids too. I laid down around three o’clock expecting Emma to wake me up in thirty to forty-five minutes. I woke up at four twenty when I heard Andrew come in the door. David was already awake and Emma woke up shortly after. We went for a short walk and then played outside some before dark. Andrew wanted brinner for dinner. He made waffles and bacon. He did a good job! I played ball in the house with the kids after dinner. They like for me to throw it down the hall way, and then they chase it. I’m not upholding the mom rule of no running in the house, I know, but I love playing with them. Emma ran up to me and gave me a kiss. Her kisses are so precious. She does the baby thing of opening her mouth wide to kiss you. She doesn’t know to pucker her lips yet. 🙂
When David was getting dressed for church this morning he found a clip tie in his drawer. He wanted to be like daddy and wear it. His shirt was plaid and the tie was striped. It didn’t match at all. He was so sweet though, and we let him wear it anyway. What’s the harm!
This Sunday was Christ the King Sunday according to the liturgical calendar. I played an arrangement of Praise to the Lord. You can find it on my worship archives page. I hope you enjoy listening!
