Andrew made it back safely from New York! I’m always very glad when he comes home! (Side story: Andrew says he saw chef Anne Burrell while eating brunch at a hotel in NY! I excitedly exclaimed, “Did you get a picture?” Because I would have totally made a fool of myself and got a picture! 🙂 He did not get a picture, or autograph, or anything!! How could he!?) I moved all my Thursday lessons to Saturday (yesterday) so I could be with the kids while he was away. Emma and I have been hanging out at the duck pond a lot lately. There is a pond that’s just a short walk behind our house. Every time we go outside Emma will point towards the back yard and say “duck”! It doesn’t matter what the weather is like, she wants to go see the ducks!
I take bread and we feed the ducks. Emma loves feeding the ducks…she likes to eat the bread herself! 🙂 I tell her she’s not a duck, but she thinks it’s funny and eats the bread anyway.
Emma has had a cold, plus she is cutting more teeth. Poor girl has been extra cranky this week. I can’t wait for her to get all those teeth through! When David cut his teeth they came through in perfect textbook order. Emma’s teeth have popped through randomly by twos. Emma’s eye teeth are currently trying to come through. She’s been chewing on a lot of ice!
We went to the park to play Friday morning. The weather wasn’t too cold, and we needed some fresh air.
Look at those teeth, and that hair! 🙂
David has been playing with his Lego blocks a lot this week. Suddenly I see him growing up, and following the picture directions on how to build his lego structures! When did he get big enough to do that? It’s weird how all of a sudden they just do things, and I’m like “Where did they learn that at?”!
Today has been quite busy! I had a meeting at the church early this morning followed by worship. (I played a great arrangement of Wayfaring Stranger! You can listen to it by clicking on my Worship Music Archives page.) Then I came home and made two pots of turkey chili. One for a lunch meeting Andrew had after church, and one for tonight after the lenten service. This turkey chili recipe is one of Andrew’s favorite chili recipes! I’m pretty fond of it too! 🙂 You can find the recipe for Thirty-minute Turkey chili here
