The weather was beautiful this past weekend! We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoors. Saturday morning we went to “feed the ducks”! This is what David and Emma always say when they want to go visit the pond behind our house. Well, Emma just says “ducks”, and points in that direction. ๐ I’m glad we did because it was beautiful! Spring is here and everything is flourishing. We saw flowers, ducks, fish, turtles, geese, and our favorite was all the tiny baby geese! They were SO CUTE!!! Of course we couldn’t get too close, because geese are really protective parents!

David has been learning about frogs and insects at school lately. We have had to go on bug hunts, looking for anything he can capture in a jar and take to school. I’m totally okay with this as long as I don’t have to pick anything up! That is David’s responsibility. He found some slugs and rolly polly bugs to take to school. Rolly polly is what we used to call them as kids. I just found out they are actually called pill bugs. I like rolly polly better! ๐ He has also been fascinated with spiders. We went to the book store on Saturday afternoon and he wanted to look at the books about insects and spiders. He picked out two books, one about spiders and a spider vs scorpion book. He wanted this huge ultimate bug-opedia book, but I told him he had to put that on his birthday wish list. ๐
This is our cajun surf and turf meal I cooked Friday evening. It tasted amazing! The only flaw was that the cream sauce did not thicken up like it was supposed to. It still tasted wonderful though.ย I’m not sure, but it was probably cooks error! ๐ย This is not exactly a cheap meal, but I totally recommend it for a special occasion, or you could cook just shrimp (or steak) and pasta and it would be a complete meal. Here is the recipe forย Cajun Surf and Turf Pasta

The many faces of David! I cannot get him to take a normal picture!! Sigh!
I’m still working on painting our end tables! It’s a good thing I have a few weeks! However, I really am going to have to start thinking about packing pretty soon! I plan on doing a blog(s) about it, so stay tuned! Also, Andrew and I will be celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary at the end of May! I know, crazy, where have those ten wonderful years gone?! We decided that every ten years we should take some kind of trip to celebrate. So we are going to London!!! When we planned this trip we did not know that we would be moving…. We are going to pack, take a vacation, and then return to finish packing and moving! It is kind of ironic, and the whole thing is bizarre. I don’t know how, but we will pull it off! I will also be blogging about London! If you have been, I would love to know about your “favorites” list! I have already started a list of must see places!
