A Zoo! Monday, September 10, 2018

I have been terrible at remembering to take pictures lately. I have been a little preoccupied by life, pregnancy, and crazy kids. 🙂 The only pictures I have to share today are of weird and peculiar creations in nature. Saturday was not one of my best days. By ten o’clock in the morning I was ready for it to be over. It started out normal, with me fixing pancakes for breakfast. While I was cleaning up breakfast dishes Emma wet her pants, the cat threw up, and then the kids were playing and knocked one of my vases over and busted it. I was so frustrated, tired, and my nerves were about gone. Thankfully the weather was nice enough to get out of the house for a while. We ended up at the zoo for a few hours where we had a good time, and I started to feel better about the day, at least until I cooked dinner that evening. I then burned the fried rice and undercooked the fish. It was just One Of Those Days! Thankfully the last couple have been much better!

Sunday afternoon I was sitting on the back porch and it started to rain. I love a good rain shower! We’ve been blessed with some much needed rain over the weekend and also some cooler weather! There’s something about a summer rain that is peaceful and makes me want to take a nap. 🙂 I wish I could include the sound of the rain fall with this picture. We’ll have to imagine it!20180908_151102

Because of all the moisture there have been mushrooms popping up in yards. I have always been fascinated by mushrooms! I love their shapes and spongy texture. They are so cute! Believe it or not I don’t like to eat them though.  I know, I sound crazy! When I told Andrew this he called me princess Toadstool! What? I had to go look up who princess Toadstool was. 🙂

I mentioned earlier that Emma had a potty accident. Well, we are potty training for a second time. She started asking to sit on the potty again, and she is actually doing much better this time. It’s amazing the difference a month can make when they are her age. She has MUCH better bladder control this time. This evening she started to have an accident and came to me saying, “uh oh” and holding her pants. I sat her on the potty and she finished going.  I count that as a win! We are a LONG way from saying she is potty trained, but I’m praying it sticks this time and that I have the patience to see it through.

We went to visit Andrew’s parents (G-pa and Grand-mama) and his aunt Sue Ellen who is visiting from North Carolina today.  We had a great visit with them and the kids always love to see Grand-mama, G-pa, and Maggie (their dog). Visiting with Aunt Sue Ellen was a special treat for all of us. The kids played and played, and we enjoyed having lunch together. David was so upset when it was time to leave that he cried! We promised him he would get to go back and spend the night with G-pa and Grand-mama sometime soon. 🙂

The last picture I have today is of frogs. Yes, Frogs! I’m not as scared of them as some people, but I really don’t like frogs. As long as they remain outdoors I’m fine. They were, however, lurking on our windows the other night. I had to take a picture because they just look so weird. OOOOOUGH! 20180908_224200

I’ll try to do better with my picture taking in the future! 🙂
