Kid Free! Friday, October 19, 2018

I am sitting here listening to silence. It is peaceful, wonderful, dull and boring all at the same time. ๐Ÿ™‚ David had fall break from school this Thursday and Friday, and so we arranged to send the kids to G-pa and Grand-mama’s house for a couple days. It has been very nice to have some grown up time! I went shopping yesterday afternoon. I needed some new boots, and a few things to revamp Emma’s bedroom. I rarely post anything about clothes or fashion because I’m probably the last person you want to seek advice from in that area, but I am going to brag on these boots I bought! I love winter boots! They were having a sale at Target yesterday, and I bought two pairs. I had a pair almost identical to the brown boots, but I wore them so much the soles were coming unattached from the boot. You can never go wrong with these boots! I also bought the gray boots because I tried them on and wanted to wear them the rest of the day! (Also because it was buy one get one half off sale!) The gray boots were so comfy and warm! I am all about comfort over beauty when it comes to shoes!

After shopping, I started to work on reorganizing Emma’s bedroom. We decided it’s time to remove the changing table and rocking chair from her room, and change her bed from crib to toddler bed. We moved an old chest of drawers into her room, and I bought her a new curtain and chair. It looks super cute! I hope she thinks so when she comes back home this evening.ย 20181018_154930

I always get a little nervous when they are no longer confined to their crib. You don’t know how they are going to react. Whether they will stay in their bed or not, what will they do when they wake up, etc.?ย  Emma has never even tried to climb out of her crib! However, since she is mostly potty trained, (I have still been putting a diaper on her at night because she is confined to her crib.) we decided to give the toddler bed a try.

Andrew and I enjoyed a date night last night too! We went to this amazing restaurant in Memphis. We had reservations for eight o’clock! That is late for us! We are usually making sure the kids are ready for and going to bed by that time. We felt like young people again! ๐Ÿ™‚ We also both dramatically over indulged! We then came home and watched TV until late! We have our shows we keep up with, and right now we are working our way back through the episodes of The Man in the High Castle. The newest season has started airing, but I wanted to re-watch the others before starting the new because it’s been like two years, and it is a pretty dense show.

In other news, I have been recording some songs the last few weeks! I decided to do a thanksgiving album, and so I chose some arrangements of songs that I love! You can go to myย Mediaย page and check it out! When I first started recording I wasn’t happy with the sound that I was getting back. Since we moved into this new house I have not been satisfied with the sound. In our old house the floors were cement tile, and the sound would ring out clearly. I didn’t have any trouble with recording. In this house the bedrooms have carpet, and the sound is just muddled. I had to try something different. I did some research, and decided to buy a small microphone from amazon that attaches to my phones earbud jack. IT’S AMAZING! The sound is SO MUCH BETTER! I love this new microphone! I hope you can tell a difference in the sound too! I also hope you enjoy my choice of songs, and that it helps bring on an attitude of thanks. We have so much to be thankful for!

This was Emma the other day! She was in such a goofy mood! ๐Ÿ™‚ She was stacking her croutons like blocks on her lunch plate. She later decided to lay down on the stairs and take a “nap”. I love this kid! ๐Ÿ™‚ So sweet and funny!

๐Ÿ™‚ Love
