This has been a week that feels like fall, with the time change and the rainy weather. We have had to entertain ourselves indoors quite a lot this week. This makes for crazy, wild, and ornery children! (even more than usual! π ) We have been having tea parties, pretend cooking sessions, dancing (I’m so tired of baby shark! π Emma loves baby shark, and sings it all the time! It’s pretty cute though!), and all kinds of indoor fun!
We did managed to go outside a little bit earlier in the week. We have a couple small trees in our front yard, and David has discovered that he can climb on one of them. He now likes to go outside and climb the tree. I don’t really mind because it’s a small tree and not very high off the ground. He thinks he’s so big and cool! π
Yesterday was one of those days for David. He just could not behave or listen at all!!!! It didn’t matter what I said or did, he was just incapable of staying out of trouble. From the moment he came home from school until time to go to church for Wednesday night programs. However, he was perfect at church! He sat in the front pew with a few of the other children because he was assigned to help with communion. He was so excited and happy to be helping out with communion too. He sat so good during church, and went up to help with communion when it was time. He did an excellent job serving! Seeing him up there with Andrew made me teary eyed! It was so precious! My baby served me communion, sniffle sniffle! Then after church it was back to being his can’t stay out of trouble self!! I tried to take a deep breathe, and remember the communion moment! π
I am not sleeping well right now, and therefore Andrew is not sleeping well either. I feel so bad that I keep waking him up at night, but I guess it’s just good practice for when the baby actually arrives. We have one more month to go before we get to meet our precious Samuel!! I’m so excited, anxious, and ready, and not ready, and ….!
Since it is fall and I’m into fall things, like pumpkin, I decided to make pumpkin muffins! They are so moist and delicious! You can eat them for dessert or breakfast! The recipe calls for a cream cheese frosting, which I know would be wonderful with these muffins. I didn’t make the frosting however, because I wanted the kids to be able to eat them for breakfast. We only need so much sugar in the morning! π
Here is the recipe forΒ Pumpkin Spice Muffins! I just did one minor change to the recipe. I used about two teaspoons of a pumpkin pie spice I bought from Trader Joes. Instead of the Cinnamon, Ginger, and Nutmeg ingredients. It probably changed the taste slightly, but I wanted to try my pumpkin pie spice! π Happy Fall!
Love,
