I have been in a spring cleaning mood lately. Andrew says he has never seen me so project oriented, and I think I’m driving him a little crazy with all my “projects”! π It all started with our closet. It was a disaster!! When we moved we went from each of us having our own separate closet to sharing a closet that is about the size of one of our previous closets. We never did downsize or organize our clothes to fit that one closet after we moved, and over the last eight months it has been getting messier and messier. I finally had enough! I could barely walk in it! So it all began…
I cleaned the grass out of our front flower bed. Being pregnant last year, I didn’t have the energy to do any gardening. So our flower beds were overtaken by the grassy weeds. I now have it all ready to plant flowers! I’m waiting for the weather to stay warm before planting because I don’t want to waste my money.Β I’m excited about having the kids help me plant flowers too. We’ll see if I can keep Emma from picking them! π She currently loves to go around the yard picking the little yellow dandelion flowers!
I cleaned out our garage! I finally took the bins of unwanted items and clothes from our closets to the local mission. While our garage is much cleaner and more organized, we still need to purchase a utility shelf and some hooks to hang up bicycles and tools.
My next project is our laundry room. I want to take down the current cabinetry and install shelving, but I’m having a hard time getting Andrew to help me take out the cabinetry. Surprise, Surprise! Andrew is not a handy man! He can barely change a light bulb! (I love you anyway sweety! π ) Watch Out!Β I may end up taking a sledge hammer to them myself!
Who knows what I’ll be up to next!
We took the kids to the zoo Friday. It was a beautiful day! I took this picture of Samuel in his stroller. I love his eyes! They are like brilliant sapphires! Maybe it’s just the lighting, but his hair looks lighter in color too. He’s getting so big! π
Samuel can roll over! He can roll from his stomach to his back. He is trying really hard to roll from back to stomach, but hasn’t accomplished this yet.
My three sweet babies! They are getting so big! David has been going through a phase lately where he is having attitude. I don’t know where or why, but he is definitely testing his boundaries to see how much he can get away with. It is testing my patience for sure! That’s the thing, sometimes I think maybe I just need to show more patience. Other times, I think maybe I’m too patient and shouldn’t let him get away with so much. Phew! This parenting thing is hard! Emma is picking up on some of these actions too, except she is more sneaky. The other night at the dinner table Andrew told her she had to eat her broccoli. She tried hiding it inside her napkin so she wouldn’t have to eat it! Andrew discovered it, and sent her to her room. Who knows what Samuel will be like when he’s older. God help us! π
I haven’t updated you in a while on Zoe. She is doing well, and has adapted to outdoor living. She actually has come to like it, especially when the weather is nice. We still allow her to come inside, mainly while we are gone. When we are all home it is too noisy and stressful for her. While she is doing better, she can’t yet handle being around all the activity. We love Zoe, and hope that one day she will be able stand us again! π
Love,
PK
