April Showers! Saturday, May 4, 2019

“April showers bring May flowers”! We’ve been getting quite a few showers lately. I took a picture of this beautiful double rainbow over our house a couple weeks ago. It was so close that we could see the end, supposedly! David wanted to go to the end of the rainbow. So we walked/rode as close to the end as we could get. Unfortunately we didn’t find the pot of gold! 🙂20190425_181201_HDR

Summer is just around the corner, and I am reminded of this by all the lasts of May! David has his last day of preschool coming up. I can’t believe I will be the mother of a kindergartner this fall! Where’s the tissues?!   I have a niece graduating high school at the end of the month. This just makes me feel old! My piano students have their spring recital this month. Emma and I had our last day of Bible study class this last week. We will really miss it too! For months Emma has been singing a little song about her memory verse, “1 John 4: verse 7 says, ‘… for love is from God…'” I have been trying to figure out the tune. Well the kids sang for us at our last meeting, and I finally heard them sing their songs. It’s to the tune Old Mac Donald! 🙂 Hahaha!:)

I took some pictures of Samuel the other day. I was trying to get snapshots of him in poses similar to the ones I took of David and Emma around his age. He did well for the inside pictures, but when we went outside he was not interested in cooperating! 🙂 These pictures are special for two reasons. One, the overalls that Samuel is wearing were my dad’s when he was little. That’s amazing in and of itself! Two, my mom made the blanket we are using to take the pictures on!

Here is my attempt at outside pictures. 🙂

I finished my laundry room project!! My dad took out the cabinets that were in there and I replaced them with shelving. I love it! Our laundry room is rather small so I wanted to maximize the space we have. We actually have a lot more storage space with the shelves, plus everything is cleaned and organized. I still want to paint the brown pantry cabinet we have in there, but another time.

Check out my Media page! I finally posted my Easter recordings. Took me long enough, I know, I was really late, but I finished the year of recording church music. I am super glad I did this project. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It’s a compilation of some of my favorite go to pieces. There is so much good music and arrangements out there that it’s impossible to record everything I love, but I did my best to pick out some of my favorites. I am making plans now to embark upon a similar project with a different genre of music!

We had family pictures taken last weekend. It was a hilarious five ring circus! 🙂 If only you could have been a fly on the wall! I want to die laughing just thinking about it! The photo session went something like this: “David sit still please, and do as the lady asks. Emma can you take your thumb out of your mouth and smile. David sit still. Awe, Samuel is smiling, hurry, sit still and say Popsicle! David if you don’t stop you are going to get a spanking. Emma please sit still. Andrew, take a deep breath and leave the room so the lady can take their picture.” You get the idea! It wasn’t too funny in the moment, but it’s hilarious now! It’s amazing that there were no melt downs and we managed to get a few decent pictures out of it. There’s a reason we only do this once every two or three years! 🙂

Love,

PK
