Happy 65th Birthday Dad!
This last weekend the kids and I went to my parents house to celebrate my Dad’s birthday with him! We enjoyed spending time together, eating, playing games, piddling around, eating :).ย My dad may be sixty five in number, but not at heart! ๐ He loves to be outdoors, whether it’s fishing, hunting, hiking, mowing, or whatever. He has electric train sets that he has collected over the years, and has recently put them together again for the kids to watch when they come visit. Dad has always been good with kids. He is playing with Emma and a stuffed dinosaur in the picture below, making the dinosaur talk. He used to do something similar with me and my “nurse bear”, a tiny stuffed bear I used to own. He’s so funny. ๐ย At some point we all watchedย Godzilla one of David’s favorite, must watch with Papa movies.
In celebration of THE DAY, we had cake and went out to eat for Dad’s birthday.
I love this picture of Samuel giving Nana kisses!!!!! So sweet!!! The kids were really good at dinner. Samuel became restless towards the end because it was getting late, he was so tired. I love that good looking couple in the above picture too!ย I only hope I look that good in about thirty years! ๐
I had to take a picture of Samuel in this little rocking chair. It’s an antique. It was my brothers when he was little, and all of us have sat in it over the years. It plays music when you rock it. Samuel LOVES music! He loved sitting in this chair too! ๐
Emma is quite the puzzle solver! She has always loved puzzles and had a knack for solving them. I have a video of her when she was about 18 months putting together her first wooden mickey mouse puzzle. Now she is putting together 48 piece paw patrol and pj mask puzzles. ๐
A while back Andrew took Emma to her first Grizzlies basket ball game. It was a father/daughter date. I stole these pictures from Andrew because they are just so darn cute, sweet, precious, and everything else!
Early in the week I made this egg in a hole sandwich for lunch. It’s one of the recipes in Ree Drummond’s newest cook book, which I joyfully received for Christmas. ๐ It is an awesome sandwich! I encourage you to make this sandwich! The egg yolk with the bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and slightly spicy mayo sauce is an amazing combination.
Love,
PK
