Thirteen years ago tomorrow we said “I Do”, and it has been a wonderful, wild ride ever since!! It seems just like yesterday in many respects. It’s hard to fathom that thirteen years has come and gone! We have both grown as people, as a family, and we have grown closer to one another through our many adventures. I pray we both continue to love and grow over the next thirteen plus years! Looking at the above picture reminds me that life is a lot like our wedding cake!! Sometimes it does not turn out like you expect. That doesn’t mean it is bad or perfect even, just different. I had picked out and ordered a beautiful cake with the different pastel colored layers with little white daisy flowers all around it. Apparently there was a miscommunication, and a mishap between the bakery and the church! The cake was not at all what I thought I had ordered, plus it was leaning to one side! To a lot of brides this could have been very upsetting, but I didn’t really care! It was not what was important to me that day! All I cared about was getting married to Andrew, and starting our life together. They were able to fix the leaning cake, and even though the design wasn’t what I thought it would be, the cake still tasted great! It’s hard to imagine what your life will be like say ten years from now. Of course we can all plan and dream, but A LOT can happen in ten years. I don’t think I ever pictured myself with three kids when Andrew and I first got married. It just wasn’t who I thought I was. Well…was I ever wrong!! I’m so thankful for our family and each of our kids! Being a mom has taught me a lot about love and life! I love Andrew more now than I did thirteen years ago!! I feel that I am a very blessed person to have such a wonderful, loving, hardworking and driven husband! Even though may cake didn’t turn out the way I thought! 😉🥰

In order to slow down and get away for a few days, we went to visit my parents this week. We hadn’t seen them since Easter. We had a great time! My dad had built a small zipline for the kids, and they had a blast going down it!! Even Samuel loved it! He smiled and laughed the whole way down, and wanted to do it again! We also went fishing one afternoon and caught some perch and a couple bass. I am thankful that we still live close enough to family to go visit when we want to!

Our back deck has become like my sanctuary! I Love how beautiful it is out there. I hung flowers and lights, and I have several potted herb plants out there. I also planted our garden this weekend! We have cucumbers, tomatoes, a couple different pepper plants, lettuce, spinach, and a butternut squash plant! I hope they all grow and produce plentifully! We have also been BBQing and grilling a lot! Today Andrew grilled BBQ pork chops! They tasted amazing! He likes binging with Babish, and follows his food blog. I have to say, it was a pretty simple and tasty recipe! I totally recommend giving it a try. We had pasta salad and watermelon with our porkchops!

Love,
