My Birthday was September 23rd, and I have long since decided to stop celebrating the number!! It’s the event that counts anyway! 🙂 This was an unusual birthday for me. Andrew is still away at JRTC, and not having him here to celebrate with me was difficult. I had a good day with Alesia, my MIL. We went shopping and had lunch together. While sitting at lunch at Noodles and Co., I checked my email and to my pleasant surprise there was an email from Andrew wishing me a happy birthday. Let’s just say it made my day so much better!!! Then when the kids were done with school, we went back to the house. Andrew had my favorite birthday dessert delivered, Boston Cream Pie! Yes, all the way from the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston!! (I’ve never asked how much!) It’s so delicious, and we all enjoyed sharing a slice of birthday “pie” as an afternoon snack. Alesia and the kids took me out for a birthday dinner later that evening to Cheddars! The food was delicious, and we had a great time.

The weather here has felt like fall, and the leaves are starting to fall off the trees and change colors. I was in the mood for Fall decorating and so I put up some fall decorations on Friday, and got out the fire pit! The kids and I had our first fall bomb fire! 🙂 There’s nothing like roasting hot dogs over the open fire. 🙂

Friday night my parents came to visit for the weekend! We had birthday celebration number two. 🙂 Saturday we enjoyed browsing a really big Antique warehouse and eating lunch at an Old Artisan Breads café with Dad and Mom. Later that afternoon Brandon and Leah were able to come over too! Mom and Leah made us dinner. We had tacos, presents and cupcakes! We all had a fun time visiting and spending some time together. I am so blessed and thankful to have a wonderful family! They go way out of their way to help and celebrate! 🙂

Only approximately one more week until Andrew is able to come home! We all miss him so much and can’t wait to be able to see him again soon! This week can’t go quickly enough!
