We spent the week wrapping up the end of the school year with an award ceremony and a graduation. Yes, they do full on graduations for preschool these days. š As ridiculous as it seems, at least in my husband’s opinion, it is super cute and worth the photo op! It was nice to go and see David’s 2nd grade award ceremony on Monday. He received two awards, for reading and math. We are so proud of how well he did at school this year. It was his first year back in the classroom since his kindergarten year, which he didn’t get to finish at school. So we have no pictures of David in cap and gown for his kindergarten graduation. It makes me a little sad to think that when he graduates high school we won’t have those specific pictures to look back on. I am thankful though that he had terrific, wonderful teachers that helped us through the pandemic. David loves school! He even wants to do his imagine math games at home during the summer he says, so he will be ready for third grade! š

Emma’s birthday is in October so she had an extra year of preschool. We did preschool at home during the pandemic. This year was spent going to a parents day out program two days a week mostly so she could be around other kids. Emma did great at her graduation, even though she said she was nervous on stage. š The kids marched in, sang several songs, said the pledge of allegiance, the days of the week and months of the year songs, and then they each said what they want to be when they grow up. Emma said she wants to be an artist. They then received their medal and diploma. š She says she is excited, but also nervous about starting kindergarten this fall. I know she is more than ready and will do exceptional.

We are looking forward to lazy summer days, and fun activities together. We celebrated the last day of school by getting lunch at Freddy’s! They have the best smash burgers and shoe string fries. Not to mention the frozen custard! š

David found a four leaf clover on our walk the other day, and then I found one too! It was our lucky day! Maybe that luck will continue! š

On our first list of summer activities: strawberry picking!! We did this one a little early to pick the strawberries while they are at their best! We went with Leah and Brandon, and then hung out with them a while. We had a great time! The strawberries taste amazing! I made Ree Drummond’s strawberry ice box cake! It was so delicious! Perfect for a summer time dessert.
