Costumes, Birthdays, and Sweets! Oh My!!! Tuesday, October 30, 2018

I feel like we have been celebrating ever since Friday for one occasion or another! On Friday we took the kids to “boo at the zoo”. We met up with my brother and sister in law and their two boys. The kids had a spectacular time! I was worried that they might get scared and not want to stay, but it was super kid friendly. They loved seeing all the fun costumes, trick or treating, and walking through the zoo at night! David and Emma both love pumpkins and costumes! David wanted to dress up as a skeleton this year, and Emma was Curious George. I had saved David’s costume from when he was two years old, and so it fit Emma really well. She loves Curious George and was happy to be George!

Saturday we went to Chuck E. Cheese for our nephews birthday party. Our kids had never been to Chuck E. Cheese before, and were very seriously taking it all in when Chuck E. came out to do the birthday songs and etc. with the kids. They just sat there with very serious faces. It was so funny! They did have a blast playing all the games, celebrating with pizza and cake, and spending time with family though.

Sunday afternoon the church hosted a trunk or treat, and the kids again had fun playing games and getting candy. We have WAY more candy than any of us needs to eat. In fact I’m seriously considering re-gifting it back out tomorrow night to trick or treaters that come to our door! Is that wrong? I of course will save some for the kids, but I don’t really feel bad about giving most of it away!

Monday was Emma’s second birthday!! She was born around 2:30 in the morning. How can my baby girl be two already? She is so special and brings much happiness to our family! She is sweet and energetic, wants to keep up with David, has learned to use the potty and can even tell me when she needs to go, and her little personality and vocabulary are blossoming! We took the kids to a pumpkin patch farm on Monday, and spent the beautiful day enjoying the outdoors. The kids petted the animals, watched pig races, played on playgrounds, picked pumpkins, went on hay rides, through a corn maze, and more! It was a great place! Emma picked out her pumpkin almost immediately and was happy with it. David had to scour the field for the “perfect” pumpkin. Finally he decided on one that he thought was the biggest and best! 🙂

We then took the kids to Steak and Shake to eat before going back home.

That evening I fixed Emma’s favorite dinner, Spaghetti! We then had cake, courtesy of Grand-mama! It was an Elmo cake! Emma loved it, and kept saying, “Elmo, Elmo…”! 🙂 She had help blowing out her candle and opening her gifts from David, who was just as eager about it all as she was.

Happy Birthday Sweet Emma!

Love,

PK
