Weekend Happenings. Monday, July 16, 2018

This weekend Emma and I went to my parents house for a couple days. It is so great to live closer to them! We had a blast! Emma loved seeing the chickens and riding the mower with Papa. Every time she hears and sees some one mowing their lawn she stops, points, and says “mower”.  She is really fascinated by airplanes, trains, and moving vehicles right now.

Mom and I went shopping together too! My mother is a fabulous seamstress and can do pretty much anything that’s crafty. We picked out some fabric for reupholstering some recently obtained furniture. Mom is going to reupholster them for me! (Thanks mom! 🙂 ) A lot of our furniture has been passed down to us from other family members. Recently we were blessed with the rod iron table and chair set for our porch that used to be Andrew’s gran and gramps’ and a bench/chair set that belonged to his great aunt Audry, among other items. I will share pictures with you once the reupholstery is finished!

Andrew and David had some father and son time while we were away. They finished up the last night of vacation Bible school! I am thankful to be married to a man that can cook and take care of the kids! I can leave and not have to worry about them, too much. 🙂 I may have to do a little extra nudging when it comes to household chores, but I still love him! 😉  My three loves, two cutie-patooties, and one handsome man!

Yesterday, Sunday, was an interesting day.  I was happy to hear and see David sing his vacation Bible school songs at church. He was the life of the group. He had some great dance moves, and sang loudly on the words he could remember. 🙂

Andrew has been preaching some really great sermons! It is nice to be able to hear him preach for a change. However, I do really miss playing for worship! I am trying to give myself some time to adjust, but not sure if I will be able to, or if I’m even supposed to…. I’ll let you know what happens on that end. I’m also hoping to start back teaching soon. My plan is to start back after all the kiddos get back to school in August. In the meantime, I will be doing some planning, practicing, and trying to NOT go CRAZY. It’s hard to explain, but I feel as though piece(s) of me are missing when I’m not teaching or playing regularly.

I made some chocolate covered peanut butter crackers for a special treat yesterday afternoon! We love them! Ever since a friend shared some with us at Christmas one year, they have been a favorite. It’s like eating a homemade candy bar! I also got into a baking mood yesterday afternoon. I have a huge batch of pizza dough in the fridge for later this week, and I made a coconut cream pie (I still have to make the meringue to go on top though).

I would say that Emma liked her cracker, but she really just wanted to lick off the chocolate!

Emma had a rough night last night! I don’t know if it was food poisoning or a stomach bug, but she threw up several times. 😦 I HATE when babies are sick! So far today she has been fine. She will not really eat anything yet, but she is drinking. We are all tired! (except David, who has enough energy to go around) Pray our sweet Emma feels better soon!
